Plants and Healing

Plants were here on earth before humans, and we have co-evolved with them. We’ve had health relationships with various flowers, leaves and roots for millennia. Many plants can help us find ease within our essential body functions, particularly digestion, stress response, sleep and energy reserves. Guidance from a trained herbalist is ideal so that you can find the right herbs for your body, mind and spirit.

Do you ever have trouble noticing what you need, especially when you are focused on the care of others in your work life or home life?

That’s when trouble can brew – in sleep patterns, digestion, stress levels, and in any combination of these three.

I can help you uncover where the discomfort is coming from- and find the plants that can aid you in restoring your balance and building your resilience.

Clinical focus

Life can be difficult, and people often need guides. I recognize plants as our teachers, and I find inspiration in the ways plants can guide us to find ease, relief and health.

I have a focus on supporting clients who have care-giving roles, in their professional or personal lives, or both. Work with Dianne

I also maintain a focus on stigma-free harm reduction for people experiencing substance abuse disorders.

That said, my practice is open to all people, who come with a variety of health and life goals.

What can I expect from an herbal consultation?

An herbal consultation is a relaxed, unhurried opportunity to discuss your health concerns. You and your goals are the focus of the consultation. I will guide the conversation with questions based on your experiences of major body systems and your health history. We’ll consider together areas of change and assistance available through plants based on your constitution and root causes of your health experience. Initial consultations are typically one and a half hours long.

After our first meeting, I review and think about the information you’ve shared, and reflect on which plants could be your health allies. Then I compose one or more herbal formulas, created specifically for you.

Follow up visits

Sometimes people want follow up visits for help tracking their progress with the herbs and to make formula changes as needed.

You may choose to come only for an initial consultation and your original formulas. Or you may decide to come for the first visit paired with one follow up session. You may also set up periodic follow up visits over time, to grow the therapeutic herbal relationship with me as you continue your journey with plants as herbal allies. Herbal formulations can be supportively changed as you do. Follow up sessions are typically 45 minutes long.

Herbal preparations & costs

Herbal formula costs are separate from, and in addition to, consultation fees. Herbal formula costs per month range depending on suggested amounts. For an example, one teaspoon/day of a custom herbal tincture would be 150 ml for the month, or roughly $45.00, plus shipping fees where applicable.

When your budget constraints need consideration, I work with you to find low cost herbal teas and foods from the grocery store that can substitute for custom apothecary formulas.

I create formulas from my Feather and Bone Herbals apothecary for clients when possible. I also work with Heart Hand Lands Apothecary in the Northeast Kingdom in Vermont which fills and ships my custom blends.

I felt held and cared for in Dianne’s care. And my body and my mind feel a million times better after a few months of the herb protocol! Thank you Nature and thank you Dianne for the healing.
